Professional Quilters Mastermind? I want to do it.

Putting our heads together Published in PharmaTimes magazine - July 2018

I have a dream. It's been in the back of my mind for many years to make a mastermind . But the obstacle is this debate of Hobby vs Business in the quilting worlds has held me back. No longer!

When I went to a guild meeting, I found that the focus was all about skill but zero information was offered about how to run a business and their was no opportunities to explore new and exciting avenues in the quilting community and rarely was their opportunity to collaborate or innovate with other quilters.

I wanted to learn from the Big Wigs. Those who have successful businesses (mostly selling quilts). I sat and thought to myself, if these people have all these quilts to show in a trunk show are they selling quilts? Then I learned about the Hobby vs Business obstacle. I personally couldn't have a productive face to face trunk show as I sell my quilts. Many are commissions. I don't say this to brag but just as matter of a fact.

My dream is to host meetings that have an hour of an successful business person talking about how they run their business and the challenges and solutions they created for themselves. The second hour would be Myself and the speaker coaching participants through their own challenges and creating new opportunities. Did I mention I'm a trained Coach?

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Would you participate in this? Would you want to be a speaker?
